What screams fall more than stunning foliage? Yes, perhaps a cozy spiced apple cider, but alas...Japan does not seem to have such a thing. But nevertheless, the leaves, the leaves, oh the LEAVES! It was incredible to see such a crimson blanket of red when driving through a tunnel of these maple trees. My new granny friends, the Komuras, were kind enough to take me to see a locally loved spot located a tad too far for my biking transport mode. It was so cute to see how absorbed they were in looking at the leaves also: Ken-san kept exclaiming how splendid the individuality of each leaf was, and Tomo-san happily became a child with me by assisting my leaf-collecting project. We ended up lunching together, and Tomo-san surprised me with ice-cream to share.
It's easy to appreciate nature's beauty when among such striking surroundings, but how wonderful is it to get to share the beauty with even more beautiful people.
