Already the close of summer, and it feels like she just arrived! As I always remark, time flies like a bird. Days have been filled by all things books--an archival processing gig at a law library, working the drums at the athenaeum, shelving bestsellers at PSB, and throwing recommendations out the wazoo to any and everyone I encounter. And when I'm off work, nights, evenings and mornings have been quaint dates with stories. Too many words to read, not enough time!
However, I had a moment when my nose was not in a page, but in the coastal breeze. The Maine coastal breeze, that is. And of course with the breeze comes the sea. Or... from the sea comes the breeze? Regardless, I was able to experience the personality-filled waters that outline Bath, a cozy lil historic shipping town. This was to celebrate a lovely soul's quincenera, and celebrate we did! Macarenas on the beach. Softball in the sand. Melodies from some strings. S'mores until overdue goodnights. And of course, laughs that carried the true essence of joy and family.
Such marvels are impossible to capture in photos or words, but I want to share some shots that will help me remember them when I get nostalgic in the future:

she swings...
...she scores!
